Film on Gujarat riots to screen at Pusan - DNA

Muslims, Parsis and Gujaratis make the best biryani, dhansak and dhoklas respectively. A simple understanding of the three communities that film-maker Rahul Dholakia grew up with. "Now suddenly an eight-year-old says, 'I want to butcher these people.' How does a child get that kind of hatred?" the director wonders.
Dholakia, who made his debut with 'Kehta Hai Dil Baar Baar' attempts to find the answers in his next film, 'Parzania', set to premiere at the Pusan Film Festival in October. Inspired by a true story, the film revolves around a Parsi family caught in the frenzy of Gujarat riots. Dholakia however avers, "It is not about Gujarat, it could have happened anywhere in the world."
