In the early '90s, I adored Parker Lewis Can't Lose, Fox's offbeat, fast-paced high-school comedy. Corin Nemec played Parker, a well-intentioned troublemaker who could make anything possible with the help of his two best buds. (Signature catchphrase: "Not a problem.")
Today, the first season of Parker Lewis arrives on DVD. Nemec called me from a Los Angeles Starbucks to reminisce about the show, which ran from 1990-93:
Candy-parker So is it weird to be talking about Parker Lewis after all these years, or does it still come up in conversation a lot?
I certainly don't talk about it on a regular basis, but obviously, it's a cult classic, and it certainly has been a topic of conversation on and off. Oddly enough, the show still shows in prime time over in Europe in many countries. When I go overseas, it's a whole different story. It's a huge show in France -- it was just on air this past year. Belgium, Holland, Germany, Italy ... it's wild. Even Israel -- it was a huge, huge success down there, and it still plays down there. I was potentially supposed to do some press down in Israel later on.
