Interview: Actor Corin Nemec - DVD Snapshot
June 06 2007
Mike Spring: Hello! How are you?
Corin Nemec: Wonderful, wonderful.
MS: Thanks for taking the time to talk to me.
CN: Oh that's fine. I'm a working actor, which means I'm doing absolutely nothing. [Laughs]
MS: So let's talk about your new movie, Chicago Massacre: Richard Speck. It's a fairly different role for you to play somebody so blatantly evil, isn't it?
CN: That's not necessarily true. When I did The Stand, which I did shortly after the run on Parker Lewis, it was the first character that I played that was dark and along these lines. I've had the opportunity over the years to play numerous characters of this nature. So for this one to come up, it didn't necessarily surprise me at all. It was more exciting, because in reading the script it was a character study more than it was a slasher film. As an actor, it was like, "Oh great, I can do a lot with this," because the terror and the horror and the fear is going to come out of becoming this character.
MS: So did you have to do any different preparation as an actor because you were playing a real person as opposed to a fictional character?
CN: I went to wikipedia.org. [Laughs.] I just read what they had on Richard Speck, and based on that and what was in the script and the fact that I was raised in the south... you know, the character was there.
